Brady quinn. im tired of the people who say jamarcus russell beat brady quinn in the sugar bowl. LSU beat notre dame. stevie wonder could see the difference in talent between lsu and notre dame last year. lsu had what, 4 first round picks in this years draft? notre dame didnt have 4 players DRAFTED. people only started making a big deal about jamarcus russell when they came back to beat tennesee. and then theres this dael about brady quinn choking in big games. usc, michigan, and lsu all had superior talent compared to notre dame. i feel brady quinn did very well in those games. against usc, had had 3 td passes, plus that 61 yrd dash up the middle. lsu, he had 2 td's. his defense let him down in those games, remember, they allowed 47 to michigan, 44 to usc, and 41 to lsu. terrible defense if i say so myself. look, jamarcus russell will be a great qb, theres no denying that, i just think brady will be better.

cant ask this question before the season begins. most people will say russell is better, but the fact is, they dont know J.S. i'm not saying quinn is better either though. both have had success in college. quinn has been recognized longer than russell, but russell has a bowl game under his belt and has flourished in his senior year. these 2 qb's might best be compared towards the end of this year seeing the comparison of team talent. the raiders lack a lot of talent, but if russell is an amazing qb, he could bring home and inspire the team to put in more effort.

leadership, skills, and intelligence will play a vital role in declaring who is the better qb.

in college, russell had more success just with the bowl game. the nfl is far different though as it will be a transition. close call at this moment, and cannot be decided right now.

Obviously Russel is better then Quinn. They both have the upsides and downsides, but Quinn is 1 of those QB's that work to get wheres hes at and Russel is to as every other QB but you can see more of a natural touch in Russel rather then Quinn and body wise Russel is much better off.I hate when people say Quinn is smarter and more mature, but really; when going into the NFL as a rookie; no 1 is really "Ready". Either way they both are good, but I think Russel will be better seeing the situation they both went into.

some numbers: quinn had a 61.8% completion percentage, russells was 67.8%. russell was sacked 15 times, brady quinn 31 times. qb rating? jamarcus-167.0...quinn-146.7..... russell attempted 26.3 passes a game, quinn 35.9 attempts/game. competition? LSU played 4 teams ranked in the top 6 ON THE ROAD last year. Quinn and Notre Dame beat one ranked team in the last 2 years combined. i think this should give you a clue. and people who keep saying jamarcus came out of nowhere after the sugar bowl just don't follow college football. everyone in the country wanted him out of high school, scouts were talking about him since he was 12. also, cleveland ownership said they would have taken russell over quinn hands down if they had the opportunity to choose. the ''russels stronger and more athletic but quinn is smarter'' thing is also stupid...brady quinn backers like to say that because its all they can go to, he obviously can't be compared to russell physically. but both teams ran complex, pro style offenses and did great jobs. and everyone talks about leadership, like quinn was such a great leader. name one victory for notre dame in any game of great magnitude where he came up and got the job done. i know, he can always blame his teammates, and the defense, and rightly so, but there's not a lot to look at there in terms of leadership. russell however led lsu to 8 comeback victories in the 4th quarter his last 2 years. he was always calm, coach miles always said he seemed the most poised and in control when the game was on the line. his teammates looked to him, and he told them they were going to go out and win.

You will not know this answer for a few years. You can't tell which one will be the better pro quarterback. Do you remember Peyton Manning and Ryan Leaf? They were both projected to be great qbs. I think Quinn is on a better team right now so that might help him more.

Russell has more athletic talent but Quinn is the better all around QB. Rusell is comparable to Culpepper and McNabb, they have never won a Super Bowl.

Brady Quin is more comparable as a player to Tom Brady who has won 3 Super Bowls. Brady isnt a great athlete but he's a great all around QB.

I dont think Quin will ever be able to win a Super Bowl in Cleveland, but I'd still take him over Russell.

I would take Russell, but it's a team game so who knows who is going to have a better career. As for that moron that was bashing culpepper, 20k yards and a 90 qb rating over 8 years isn't being a bust.

Russell is bigger and stronger, but Quinn is smarter and more mature. The biggest challenge in going from HS Football to College is physical. The biggest challenge going from college to the NFL is mental. Quinn will outlast Russell.

Quinn is better...Russell is overrated...People only noticed him after the bowl game vs. ND...when ND had a pretty shaky D...

For this year? I'd go with Russell. In the long run, who knows, both could be great, both could be busts.
