The abs light stays on and when I turn the steering wheel, It feels like something is loose. The teraction light stays on also. What could this be?

if the steering wheel is loose and the abs light is on and the traction light my guess is the (clock spring) is damaged its a fairly tricky procedure your messing with airbags!!! so I would take it to a shop unless you have the tools and skills. but it could be just a loose steering wheel and a faulty wheel speed sensor? get it scanned by a good honest auto technician preferably Ase certified.

First off we have to remember that these are also called idiot lights. They may just be disfunctional. If it feelsas if something is loose it could be in yuour rotor , caliper, pads.What was worked on last in that area is usually a good place to start. As well as the abs is a brain that makes the brakes let go before the car stats to lock up and slide so if you coyld actually slam them on at maybe 20 or so in a safe area and see how the brakes feel like if they actually do lock up and maybe one wheel in the back will stop turning and leave a mark on the pavement it is not doing its job.I believe in a case like this a diagnostic test would be ur best bet. For this particular thing it usually runs between 25 and 40 dollars. Burt dont let them talk in to all kinds of stuff SOMETIMES THESE PROBLEMS CAN BE RATHER COSTLY BECAUSE OF THE COMPUTER BUT ONLY BECAUSE THEY WILL OVER CHARGE SO CHECK IT OUT A COUPLE OF PLACES

I have an 04 Impala. My traction light stays on also. The guy I got it from said there is a wire in the wheel that makes that light stay on. He said it wasnt a big deal. Sounds like something in your wheel. You might check that.

Your not going to have much of a choice here. It needs to be taken to a certified repair facility. The dealer is the most ideal place to go to. I know it going to cost more, but they know that car better than other places. What year is the car? Is the repair going to cost more than the car is worth? Did you put aftermarket wheels and tires on it? So many people do that without thinking about the long term damage they cause if they do not modify the suspension. Good luck.

Probably a front wheel bearing. they contain speed sensors used to detect wheel lock up for abs and wheel spin for trac. control. If there is a growling noise when driving or turning its definitly a bearing. I'd take it to a shop before it become serious and damages other parts or leaves you stranded.
Not really a do-it-yourself job unless you've got air tools.

Could be a manufacturers defect.
Anything with brakes. Take to the dealer.
It could be very damgersous.
