The problem with taxes is the government does not give back when it should and as a result it causes a spiral upward. The government will say it needs a tax increase for project x (normally education). Well, when project x is over instead of doing a tax decrease the government sees it as extra money for pet projects and keeps the tax instead of doing a tax break. Then when another special project comes up they increase the taxes again. This leads to government waste and over taxation. I don't mind paying my fair share, I object to it being squandered by our elected officials. I also object being stuck with the bill because of their poor planning.

Taxes are not being raised just to keep government officials happy...

They are being raised to pay for all of the stupid, unnecessary things the government does because politicians like to use "pork barrel politics" to buy votes.

Welfare = a vote buying program

Note: the politicians are trying to buy more votes by giving amnesty to illegal aliens and not requiring proof of citizenship in order to be allowed to register to vote.
Democrats are the leaders in this effort to violate our constitution.

I think if they give themselves one more cost of living wage increase while doing less and less of what they were elected for, we should all get together and serve them an eviction notice! I don't mind paying my share...but I mind it being spent on crap that doesn't help ANYONE in the long run but politicians!

It's not to keep them happy. It's to get them re-elected. The best way to get re-elected is to dole out the new and improved gov't services.
