Hi! Whatever you do, DO NOT put any kind of corrosive chemical on your body!!!!!! If your sunburn is severe where you are having chills with it, please go to the ER right away or see your doctor in the morning! Here is a remedy that may help cause I have used it and it does take a lot of the burning away...Get a clean, large bowl and fill it 3/4 of the way with cool water (not ice cold), add 2 or 3 capfulls of white vinegar(use the cap on the bottle of vinegar) to the water, then use white, clean cotton (like a man's hankerchief or if you have a clean white cotton sheet you can cut up), wet the white cotton and just lay it over the burn area for about 4 to 5 minutes, you can repeat this again, but do not overdo it, if you are still uncomfortable, please see your doctor right away, they have wonderful medicine that will definitely make you feel great! REMEBER: DO NOT USE HARSH, CORROSIVE, FLAMMABLE STUFF ON YOUR SKIN!!!! God Bless! Hope you feel better..

If your sunburn is severe enough to blister - 2nd degree burns, you may need to seek medical help, especially if it covers large areas. If you have nausea, vomiting, dizziness, dry mouth, you may have sun-stroke. Get medical help straight away.
There are proprietary creams available from the chemists, specially for burns, some with anesthetic (pain killers) and well as antiseptic. But I would see a doctor if its that bad.
Make sure you are drinking enough water to avoid dehydration too.

soak a cotton cloth with apple cider vinegar and dab over the affected area. Or add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar to a lukewarm bath and soak in it for 10 minutes. Hope it helps.

Put some sorbolene cream which will keep it moist and apply at intervals as to maintain this moisture .
Though your back is burnt you will also feel a tingling sensation all over your body ..this is a form of shock which the body is sustaining to tell the rest of the body something abnormal has happened, ie, sunburn .
Please avoid the sun in the future as it is more deadly than you think ..you should be fine in a couple of weeks.

If you are blistering or vomitting or feeling sick go to the ER...if it is just painful they make a special aloe with lidocaine in it to help numb the area, it also has a touch of menthol for cooling it reeling helps....you can get it just about anywhere you would buy aloe or sunscreen from.

GO TO THE ER!~Blisters and vomiting takes it way beyond the help that Noxema would be able to give you.
Hope you feel better soon.

I know it sounds stupid, but Ibuprophen actually does help some with the discomfort of a sunburn. Also a cool bath will help with the hotness of it.
