you can create a zip file and add to it all the files that you are not using... go to www.winzip.com to download file compresser...

I'll assume you use a firewall and virus checker in place to stop viruses/trojans from swallowing valuiable disk space. I'll further assume you already have an established housekeeping routine to defrag the disk and clean out / delete anything that you haven't used in say the past 3 months.

If you're doing all this and you still find you don't have enough free HD space, install another larger secondary hard disk (there are some massive drives out there and they're not too expensive).

go to "My computer" and right click on "Local Disk C:"
and hit "properties"

At the bottom, check the "compress this drive to save disk space" if it's not already checked.

Use the native scan disk and defrag utilities, and do so on a regular basis.
