I believe so. With the use of the modern technologists of the computer and the Internet, it would take less time than it took the big three.

Well if an event such as the Execution, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ occurred today... yes. If the events of the Old Testament, such as the complete destruction of two cities, walled cities arbitrarily crumbling, etc occurred today... probably.

Eventually there will give rise to a new, New Age Religion. People will become disenchanted with the whole Athiestic, Secular Humanistic Culture, and will look to the Spiritual. There will be a segment that will turn to Christianity, Judeism, or another established religion. But there will be "prophets" of New Age thinking who will gain a following.

No. Religions require faith. Faith is the belief in something not seen. As Americans, we are conditioned to only believe what we can see, taste, touch, hear, and smell. If it doesn't meet those criteria, it isn't real. So, I don't see a major religion getting started in America, at least. It would be possible in a place where people are less cynical. Someplace where people aren't so sophisticated they don't need God anymore.

First, let me speak to the relative insensitivity of the question. There are more religions than just those 3. have you tallied the number of Buddhists, or Hindus lately? Now on to the actual answer as I see it. The problem many new religions face is that they're so very obviously geared to screw their believers. It's extremely difficult to convince anyone, much less Americans, that they should start paying out to yet another tyrant. One of the things that keeps those 3 going is that people are BORN to them. IF you can get enough suckers, and hold them for 2 or 3 generations, then yeah, it could work.

Yes, actually. We've got Secular Humanism and Global Warming.

They have all the hocus-pocus involved, including apocalyptic beliefs, zealots and fanatics.
