As an acoustic guitar player for over 25 years I can tell you that the most fabulous era for acoustic guitar and singing was in the 60's through the 70's. The collection of specifically acoustic songs found from these eras remains un-matched to this day and include premium eternal songs like Stairway To Heaven, as well as songs from Bob Dylan, and equisite pieces of work form Cat Stevens, James Taylor--reputed to be the great and most skilled acoustic guitar player of the century. And then there is Harry Chapin, and the Eagles, and Neil Young, John Lennon, and many more. These artists represent the golden era of acoustic guitar masterpieces. Many of the songs done by these artists will be played 100 years from now for they are timeless and perfected. Ben Gibbard! He's not really underground anymore. I went to see him in San Francisco on his solo tour. It was all acoustic. Jonathan Rice was there too and he was good.
I'd try to look for them on NRP (National Public Radio). There, they have a recording of their proformance. It's really great. I have them both on my ipod.
