The 1855 gold Eagle ($10) had a mintage of 121,701. The O (18,000 mintage) and S (9,000 mintage) mint marked ones are scarce and command more money. The mint mark is on the reverse below the eagle. In grade very fine the 1855 without a mint mark has a value of $325 and as you go up in circulated grades to almost most uncirculated the value is $430. In mint state grades it is worth from $3,500 to $6,000. The above prices are about what a dealer will pay. If your coin has a mint mark see a coin dealer or re-ask the question stating the mint mark. Hope this helps.

An 1855-dated Coronet $10 Gold Eagle without any small "o" or "s" under the eagle has retail of $400-$425 in average circulated condition, up to $450 to $475 in nice circulated with sharper details and traces of mint luster, to between $600 and $2500 for grade almost uncirculated. If the $10 gold has a small "o", then values are $400-$600 in grade average circulated, to $1300-$2500 in nice circulated. 1855-dated $10 with a small "s" is valued at $1000-$1500 in average circulated, to between $2500 and $4000 in nice circulated. Bullion value for the gold coin is about $323.
