I hate it when I hear people say antardica.Even Al Gore and Oprah say antardica.

because not all deserts are made up of sands. although there are lots of ice and sea water there, the moisture content of Antarctica is comparatively low to other place on earth. a frozen water is not moisture--and it never rains on Antarctica.

Because precipitations are minimal (less than 2 inches every year), and there is no liquid lakes (expected Vostok lake which is underground).
Winds are almost constant all year long, and stronger on the coastal area, which contributes to driedness.

It never rains in Antarctica. And do you know how this continent is called in Russia? Antarctida. (not Antardica).
Antarctica means "opposite to Arctic", not "opposite to Ardic"!

Even though it is mostly ice and snow, There is no precipitation there. All the condensation falls out of the air when it reaches its dew point farther north.

Because of the weather there. It is all cold air which holds very little moisture. Similarly, there is little moisture to evaporate.
