He crowds the plate, which is why he is hit so often. And to make it worse, when he gets hit, he whines about it, and the Red Sox pitchers throw at the opposing team.

I don't think that Proctor meant to throw at his head. Have you seen the size of Youkilis's head?? How can you NOT hit it? If Proctor wanted to, he could have easily hit it.

Youk may crowd the plate, but that is the way many good hitters cover the outside part of the plate. Bill Winfield, a former Yankee and Padre, crowded the plate and was content to let the hbp numbers help his obp. Craig Biggio of the Astros has complemented his career with numerous hbps. There is nothing wrong with Youk protecting the plate. As for whining, he got hurt, shut up and took his base. You want whining, watch what happens if Stray-Rod gets hit, even with the 6 lbs. of body armor the guy wears.

So what if he crowds the plate??? He's far from the only one and it is a completely legitimate thing for a player to do. I agree that Proctor didn't do it on purpose but come on, you would of complained too if a fastball came at your head. I think your just jealous that he's playing great while the Yankees are stuck with Josh Phelps at first base right now.

Hell No Youkilis does not crowd the plate, that's how he bats and that's how he has always batted. And to the guy named Jeffery, lets hit you with a 95 mile an hour fastball and see if you like it.Of course Youkie was whining, he has kids dumbo, and that came pretty close to his face.No I don't think Procter did it on purpose, but still, your messing with someones life when you throw that erratic.

Youkilis is the Fuucking man and he is not n any way cheap or dirty, he plays his heart out and I'm sick of Yankees fans trying to call EVERY single Red Sox player dirty and cheap, Lowell and Youk are not cheap at all
Those are 2 of my favortie players because they work hard without cheating at all

Yes he does. The Yankees need to brush him off of the plate not hit him. Clemens is a master of the brushback.

He swung at that pitch. Bullshit call by the dumbass ump. I found it interesting, though, that Youkilis's beard made it down to first about 6 seconds before the rest of him did.

Didn't seem like he was in the 9th tonight, but didn't see his other at bats, I know that goatee needs to go though!
