so distribute the negative signs first
-7 -x - y - z

I think that is right. All you have to do is use the distribution rules. You just give everything inside of the parentheses the opposite sign when there is no number.
Put the one in front of the first parenthesis. There is always an invisible 1.
-7-x-1(y+z)=
Since it is simplified other than the distribution you don't need to do anything else.
-7-x-1y-1z
because -1(1y)= -1y or -y
it's the same for the z
Then just don't write out the 1's because they are a given.
