In a search engine--like Yahoo, Google, Ask.com, etc--type in something like MySpace layouts, Friendster layouts, Bebo layouts or whatever page you're looking for, and it will take you literally to dozens of websites. Most have categories from Anime to Zodiac signs; glitter graphics; generators to create your own personal layout (with the colors, pictures, etc. that YOU want. To upload pictures for these, it's best to have an account with sites like www. photobucket.com, or other photo-sharing site); contact tables; online now icons; etc. Most have a preview so you can see what it will look like, and once you decide on a design, just RIGHT CLICK on the code listed below the design, right click on SELECT ALL (so the code is highlighted), right click on COPY, and then go to your MySpace page's (or whatever) HOME page, LEFT click "EDIT PROFILE", and when that page opens up, RIGHT CLICK again, choose PASTE, and this will put the code in the ABOUT ME area (if you have something typed here, press CTRL-END,to put the code below that. Otherwise, the code may show up among the description of yourself. END is located on the right side of the keyboard, between DELETE & PAGE DOWN). Then, at the bottom of the page, DOUBLE CLICK the tab saying "SAVE ALL CHANGES". This goes to another page where you have to enter a 6 letter code as it is written, and click again. If done right, it will say something like "Profile updated." You can then double-click "Preview Profile" at the bottom, but the majority of the time, you'll have to leave the site and check back in later before the layout change will actually show up. To put a layout on Friendster is a little different: once you have your layout selected, you go to the home page, click edit profile, and then click the CUSTOMIZE tab. It opens a page similar to above, and you do the copy/paste routine again, and click to save all changes. If you don't like the looks of the layout you just put in, click on REVERT and your layout returns to the previous one.
Bebo is a LOT easier. If you have a list of favorite skins saved, just click on MY FAVORITE SKINS, choose the one you want and then USE THIS SKIN. It's there automatically.
Am not sure how they do the sites like xanga or hi5 because I don't have a webpage there. Hope this helps.
