FYI: As far back as the 1970s Congressman Gore promoted the idea of high speed telecommunications as an engine for both economic growth and the improvement of our educational system. He was the first elected official to grasp the potential of computer communications to have a broader impact than just improving the conduct of science and scholarship. Though easily forgotten, now, at the time this was an unproven and controversial concept. Our work on the Internet started in 1973 and was based on even earlier work that took place in the mid-late 1960s. But the Internet, as we know it today, was not deployed until 1983. When the Internet was still in the early stages of its deployment,Congressman Gore provided intellectual leadership by helping create the vision of the potential benefits of high speed computing and communication to have a broader impact .. http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/200009/msg00052.html

As a Senator in the 1980s Gore urged government agencies to consolidate
what at the time were several dozen different and unconnected networks into an "Interagency Network."

Al Gore? That is who we are hating this week? I thought it was President Bush and anyone who disagrees with the Democrats. At least, that is what I was led to believe in reading the posts here and watching the news. Thanks for the update though. I never get these memos.

How precisely are China in charge for one quarter or our pollution? The final numbers I observed (i'm going to look for a link for you) confirmed China as an entire contributing 7% extra greenhouse gas than the U. S.. through fact that they have 4 situations our inhabitants i could say that Gore and co could initiate criticizing China while they get on the fringe of the quantity of harm to the Earth that we reason according to capita.

Al Gore is an intellectual, well spoken individual. He is a man of conviction. The GOP burned him and he has come back ten times as strong and with a great deal more of public support. His latest book, "The Assault on Reason" is the #1 seller according to Amazon.com. Gore scares the conservatives with that much public support, they are scared he will run or he will team up with which ever Democrat gets the nod.

With all the idiotic things that politicians like Al Gore say ["I Invented the Internet", "Global Warming", and "media conspiracy against me" to name three], why do so many people seem to hate George Bush?

After all, he kept Al Gore safely (well, mostly safely) unemployed.

:-)

Republican attacks on Democrats are usually just an insult game, name-calling, smear tactics. It's attempting to discredit the messenger, because they know that they cannot discredit the message.
