when major corporations hold patents over life, aka dna.
even the human genome blue print is being held captive
Shouldn't we now start praying to the scientists.

wow. people. come on now.
its about companies revoking the freedom of life and the lives of future generations, and we do not even realize it, or care.
$$$ and companies patent and legally control the instruction set that makes humans humans and we're spending more time on our knees thanking god for forgiveness, when we should be on our Feet lobbying for the freedom of life.
and leaving dna up to god.
wow.... I mean the worlds much bigger than church people.

sorry that was "asking for forgiveness" and "thanking him for his greatness"

No. I don't acknowledge the supremacy of either one.

I stopped praying a couple years ago, but that doesn't mean I don't believe in God. My friends have actually heavily criticized me for not praying anymore.
I stopped praying because I was asking for something, and it ended up happening to someone else. This was the second time. I didn't get frustrated about it, but it just seemed like I wasn't being heard, and if you feel like you are not being heard, you don't want to pester. So, I just haven't prayed in a while. Ironically, I tend to pray more when I'm happier, because I'm in a thankful mood, but I haven't been happy for a very long time.

It isn't scientists who you would need to pray to, it is the corporations. A very different thing.
I follow science and philosophy as the gateway to understanding the world. The point about praying lays in the existence or non existence of god. Needless to say - I stopped praying and wishing when I grow up.

To pray to God is to passively help, distantly. It is to communicate with our source.
Yes, scientists do have a patent on human DNA, but God created its design.
Humans do not know everything about anything, so why pray to something so flawed?

Neither the scientists, clerics, doctors, scholars, psychiatrists, nor financial institutions (or anyone else, for that matter) keep me clean and sober when nothing else seems viable. It is only through faith in, and action under the guidance of, a Higher Power of MY understanding that I am granted my daily reprieves.

Someone's a little cynical. There is not an ounce of truth in anything you said. God is the creator and sustainer of life silly man!

Science is lame without religion.
Religion is blind without science.
Scientists are merely humans just like you and I. No more than people who discovers things the mind can never conceive. Would you honestly worship the discoverer? Or would you worship the Creator?

No matter how advanced science is, I still believe in God. There are still things that the human mind won't be able to phantom.

According to the philosopher Bertrand Russell, you probably shouldn't pray to anyone or anything. To quote him, "The knowledge exists by which universal happiness can be secured; the chief obstacle to its utilization for that purpose is the teaching of religion."
