In Jeremiah chapter 7 verse 22 god tells the esteemed prophet Jeremiah that he never told Jeremiah's forefather's anything about sacrifice when he led them out of Egypt. The exodus took place in the 2nd book of the bible. The book of Jeremiah is more than half way through the bible and the entire first part of the bible talks about sacrifice, especially after they left Egypt. Now, if god didn't give the orders on sacrifice then who did? The bible is supposed to be inspired by god. Did god lie or did Jeremiah? If neither one is lying then who was giving the orders about sacrifice and setting down the other laws? Are we to assume that some other god gave them? If we can't believe the whole first section of the bible how can anyone believe any of it?

I checked through 4 of my Bibles and you are correct. Nevertheless, there will probably be those who say you aren't "reading your Bible with faith." This has become a rather standard answer for many Christians when faced with Biblical contradictions.

God is Good: 2 Chronicles 16:1 means 36 years from the separation of Judah and Israel, Asa now being king. Cletus: Eye for an eye is a part of the economy of Israeli, and concerns a Government punishing a criminal. In the Christian economy, we are not to take cold blooded personal revenge, but can still expect a lawful punishment for evil doers; we can still work as soldiers or policemen, and attempt to stop illegal activity as well. There is no conflict! Samwise: They are not mutually exclusive. Matthew 7:12 would prohibit a lot of immoral activity, not authorize it. Islam: Ths verse means: Why do you question me concerning that good thing (the law)? There is one that is good (God) / he who is God is one (confirming the Trinity). He does not deny his personal goodness. Dem2008: The word children here is nahar which could mean anything from seven years old or so, to about 40 years of age. These were probably soldiers, or at least worthless young men. They were actually insulting God, and making fun of the recent miracle concerning Elijah. Probably they were more than ready to kill Elisha if they could have. Also, don't tease Bears - they have a long memory. Witness: Why don't you like the story in Acts 9 and 26? The Bible demonstrates that God lives in a light far more brilliant than the sun, yet was often presented to man as thunder and lightning in thick rain clouds. This is a way of saying that He didn't reveal himself in all His glory. There are varous theophanies written about in the scriptures; Jesus was unique in that He not only saw the Father, but fully knew his Spiritual nature as well. Exodus 13:21-22; Psalm 81:7; Ezekiel 1:4; 1Timothy 6:16. You are right in that some versions of the Bible are better than others - K.J.V..

21 " 'This is what the LORD Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Go ahead, add your burnt offerings to your other sacrifices and eat the meat yourselves! 22 For when I brought your forefathers out of Egypt and spoke to them, I did not.... just .....give them commands about burnt offerings and sacrifices, 23 but ...I gave them this command: .....Obey me, and I will be your God and you will be my people.
