what happens if i constantly connect and disconnect my external hardrive from my laptop?

i just wanted to know if will cause any problems if i keep taking off the wire a lot from my laptop.

Nothing, as long as you always use the "Safely Remove Hardware" option before you unplug. Otherwise you may lose or corrupt data that is being written to your external drive.

Nothing, except maybe wear out the connector over time.
