It's a litlle curious story:
In the Worl War II, the soldiers were used to give reports to their superiors about the number of survivors and killed soldiers after a battle, when there were no killed soldiers in the squad they used to say "0K" ("0 Killed") the same way they write this phrase in the reports, and of course this meant that all was good, without any problems, so, the "0" (zero) was substituted by an "O" and nowadays the term has become in one of the most frequently used, but almost nobody know where it came from. So, now you know that when you say "OK" your saying "0 Killed" like a World War II soldier.

One story I heard was this.

In the original Ford factory there was a man whose job was to certify that every car made was finished with no problems. His name was something like Oscar Klein (ok, I forget his name, so I just made it up then).

But having to write his name was too much effort, because there were so many cars coming out and everything was just about efficiency. So he just wrote his initials OK.

The british decided to write the word out as Okay. But in fact OK appears in every language I have ever encounterd.

In Korean, Filipino, Chinese (OK la), German and so on.

Nope, all wrong 'okay' what?!!!!! are you mad.
It stands for "oll korrect" by the looks of things, obviously a mis-spelt parody of 'all correct' and that kind of humor was the rage in mid 19th century America.

Just as you silly monkeys use 'txt' and 'l8r' hah hah

But obviously no one's entirely certain, but that's the most supported theroy.

"DUH!"

OK stands for "okay," in other words, "yes" or "all right" or "fine."

OK? or "understand?" :D
