It's one of the bad things that my DNA got from my mother. She died from complications due to rhuematoid arthritis. I'm suffering from osteoarthritis now and am tested yearly for the RA. It's one of the reasons that I'm here typing now....to keep my fingers limber. It hurts very much to try to open jars for the first time. Sometimes, I'm too filled with pride to call to my elder son or my husband for help..and I'll strain until the pain brings tears to my eyes....but usually, no... I cannot do something as simple as open a pickle jar. Some nights, I can't even sit here and type for long...because it begins to hurt. I'm only 42...my mom was already severly disabled by this age...so I've got hope. Sorry...you probably meant for this to be a funny topic, huh?

Most of the time, but sometimes I find myself having to slam the lid against the counter first!

Most of the time i can.
But if I can't, i take a knife, and stab a hole in the top. The air pressure inside the bottle changes, and then its all mine. Ha Ha Ha HA. lol.
So you must be handy to have around them..

LoL.....yes, but the best way to do it is by stabbing a little hole in the lid with a knife, then it's very easy to open!! Why doesn't anybody know this little trick.....seriously try it!!
