In the following,assume log means log base 6:-
log (215.8) = 3 - x
215.8 = 6^(3 - x)
6^(2.995) = 6^(3 - x)
2.9995 = 3 - x
x = 0.0005

Log of logbx equals logx/logb or lnx/lnb. So you know log(215.8)/log(6) = 3-x.

Simple algebra gives you the answer.
