Congrats on his return! If you're thinking of getting pregnant, you should speak with your doctor and get on a prenatal vitamin starting now - folic acid is very important to help prevent neural tube defects such as spina bifida and is recommended before you get pregnant. Avocadoes are a great natural source of folic acid, too.
Something you may want to think about as well, is what effect being in Iraq may have on your fiance', and be sure that getting pregnant right away will be the best thing to do. (Perhaps you've been together for a long time and are a very solid couple, or perhaps you were only together a short time before he left for the war....) It will take some time for him to "de-comp".
Best wishes and good luck with your marriage and family!

I am not trying to burst your bubble, but being in your shoes, with a husband who has come back from Iraq about a year and a half ago you may want to wait a few months after he gets back just to make sure all is still good. It can be easy to have an amazing relationship over the phone but in person it is completly different. If after a few months all is well then start trying. I don't think there is anything that will help it is just your body but from experience I got pregnant 2 weeks after stoping the nuva ring. It is a birth control. Congrats on him coming home, and you are a wonderful fiance for waiting for him to return home!!

First of all try not to worry about it too much (stress can actually make it harder to get pregnant!).
But there are ovulation predictor kits that you can find anywhere they sell pregnancy tests. It will tell you when you're ovulating so you'll know which days are your best chances to conceive.

How about you get married and make him or her legal? That'll be a nice birthday present.
