We don't hate him, we simply realize that he makes poor decisions at the most crucial of times... he has a serious case of Jake Plummeritis... he is the anti-Brady, the anti-Montana. Look at last year's super bowl, Chicago's D was keeping the Bears around, it was tense and nail-biting... then over the course of a five minute span Rex gave the game to Indy... Mallard Duck interceptions, tripping, falling, taking sacks for loses... it was too much to give Peyton and Co. that many cracks at it... the Bears D wore down and the Colts got the rings. It is not Hate, it is just that everyone's biggest fears came true... Rex thought that it was his job to win the game with his arm... like he got sacked and walked back to the huddle thinking he had the heart of Farve, the arm of Elway, and the brains of Montana... we all saw it coming for weeks and even when it all blew up it was worse than we thought.

Everybody hates Rex because he is inconsistent. He had several games with high passer ratings, and then other games he singlehandedly massacred for the bears by getting more passer ratings less than 10 than anybody, so while he threw poor passes, the Bears struggled to win games they would have easily won if they had a consistent albeit mediocre quarterback at the helm of the offense. Not to mention all of the fantasy teams that he screwed over. NO offense to the Bears as a team cuz I hand them all props for making it to the superbowl, but Rex is not the reason that they got there.

Because Rex gets WAY too much credit... How many average QB's could have been put in his place and done just as well or better??? The problem is that Rex has been crowned the King, when anyone who knows his football realize that the defense, the running game and the special teams won most of those games... When the D didn't play there A game, the Bears lost, because Rex was a non-factor...

I totally agree with you. The guy is pretty much a rookie. I don't know if any other QB or player out there has taken as much critisism and still was able to play like he did. I mean he only has a couple of recievers to throw to and they aren't star recievers (not saying they aren't good). He had some really good games, and some really bad. They were considering givin him the MVP before the Arizona game. And he DID NOT lose the superbowl for his team. The defense did not have their best night. no one did. except Hester.

Rex is extremely disliked for the simple reason the rest of his team is great! 2 running backs who can get you 1500 yards being the starter, a really good line, 2 great receivers in muhammed berrian. The defense led by Urlacher and Briggs is top 3 best in the league. Not to mention your kick returner is the most dangerous in the league. Their filed goal kicker was #1 in filed goals made also. There were no holes in this team except QB. He just cracks under pressure and needs to be a backup at best. Look at his stats in the Super Bowl.

its simple. in this leage the QB is either considered to be a god or worthless. since hes the center piece of the offence he will either get most of the credit or most of the blame. it is especially true in big markets like chicago or NY where there is a hundred local sports writers that have nothing better to do than either hail any little triump or nit pick at any little flaw so their will be able to sell their papers. the fact is if grossman played in a smaller city and on an average team noone would hate him (or love him). he would just be considered an average player period.

It could be that he isnt living up to expectations or that he has lost in crucial games, but my point is if Rex wants to get off the hot seat, he needs to have a great season next year

Nobody is fond of Rex Grossman because he is very inconsistant. He is a nightmare at the quarterback position because you never know what your going to get out of him, and if your going to be a great quarterback you cant be doing that. And if you want to win the Superbowl, you definitely cant be doing that.

people hate rex because he had a 6 game stretch that made ryan leaf's career look like dan marinos. he had 4 turnovers a game, not good accuracy wasnt leading receivers and played on a pass happy college team and put up huge numbers and people expect that now in the nfl.
