Why can't they stop losing games....and start having winning seasons? Why can't management stop spending money on big $$$ players (that really can't produce much, other than to help drive up ticket revenue)....and start spending money on necessary players..like PITCHERS..

OK, everybody is right with the pitching problem, but let's narrow it down some by saying that Otsuka does a nice job closing/setting up and their closers have been decent when healthy (the issue seems to be with SPs). Which brings me to one BIG problem - they seem to be injury prone (like the Cubs). Furthermore, the hitters are inconsistent- Tex takes 1/3 of the season each year to get started, Blalock runs hot and cold until he hits the DL, Mench (now in Mil) would hit 5 homers in one week and go hitless the next, Young (the only consistent spot in prior years) waited to land a big contract and fell apart (so far this year). All in all, I think it is a management issue - everyone seems to under-perform when they get to Texas (even A-Rod and Soriano).

They have tried bringing pitchers and it hasn't worked out. Millwood had a great year before he came there and Padilla was also a solid pitcher in his pre-Ranger days. The guy that said the ballpark is the problem is correct for the most part. Its a great hitters park where even good pitchers have trouble pitching. Maybe they should follow the example of Coors and use the humidor idea to try and help out the pitchers. Until that time they will have to continue trying to outslug the oppostion, which as we have seen over the years isn't the best way to win (just ask the Yankees)

It's not just The Ballpark -- they suck on the road, too.
