I am 35 weeks pregnant and recently I noticed an increase in my amount of vaginal discharge. They are usually slightly yellowish. Does this mean Iabour is coming? Is it possible to lose my mucous plug without realizing it? Because I have no idea how does the mucous plug looks like.

Discharge all throughout pregnancy is common and it increases in the weeks leading up to labor, but it doesn't mean labor is imminent.

The mucus plug will look like snot, basically, and will be very thick, like a gel.

Did you get swabbed to make sure it is actually thrush? It could be some other kind of yeast infection. You are allowed to take things in pregnancy for thrush. I was allowed to anyway, but after 12weeks. I'm so prone to thrush that i was getting it everytime i had sex and everytime i had my period. I was so fed up of it, i stopped having sex and got a proper course of antibiotics, this took it away, but as soon as i found out i was pregnant i get it like every week, i know how you feel, i'm so frustrated with it too, pessarys, creams, live yoghurt everything but nothing gets rid of it for good. I think that it could be because you're due to give birth soon, although i have no idea. I heard that you get an increase of discharge at the begining and at the end so it could be that.

An increase in vaginal discharge is normal. The mucus plug looks like a big glob of snot. It can be clear, brownish or bloody. It will definitely be different than your normal discharge.

yellowish discharge sounds more like a yeast infection. If you start to have any kind of itching or burning, call your doctor to make an appointment, tell the nurse on the phone you think you have a yeast infection. They will want to get it taken care of asap. When I lost my mucus plug, I had increased discharge, but it was clear and really thick.
