When the Iraq War was under consideration France was one of our longest term allies and in its best judgment the French government advised against starting war in Iraq. For giving this well intentioned and well motivated advice, France and the people of France were maligned, insulted, belittled, called cowards. Even "French Fries" were renamed "Victory Fries" in the congressional cafeteria. Is it not time for the US government or at least the American people to apologize to France for our country's rude, unjust and frankly childish behavior against that country.

I totally agree, France didn't do anything wrong to the USA. I think anyone who dislikes france for not doing what they want, is stupid

The administration didn't do any of that. It was the citizens who threw the temper tandrum. But the American people don't owe *anyone* an apology when other countries are the biggest offenders of bigotry against us. Get over it, France.

Nice Tit*ies has the answer, the world should apologize for wanting Saddam to still be abusing the Iraqis.

We don't owe them squat. And we sure didn't need their help. As Patton famously said: “I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me.”

i believe it is freedom fries, but still i don't think we owe them an apology. B/C we couldn't have let them get away with that crap so we go there and at the same time protest, you see how it works out. Its a balanced system that could only work in America. And besides French ppl suck at warfare :)

It's George W. Bush...what do you expect?

I don't think we should apologize. I think the French get enough satisfaction out of knowing how big of a mess the United States has become recently.
We probably messed Iraq up even more than it was when Sadaam was in power. It is very sad.
