Strict religions that's tend strongly not to associate with others not of their beliefs and rarely get involved in secular matters. The Amish are a good example. Often confused with evangelical religions such as the Southern Baptists.

Fundamentalism is the intrinsic belief of all religious ideologues that there's is the only true faith, the single path to salvation, the alternative to damnation . . . and worse.

Interestingly enough, the single biggest flaw in liberals which is constantly hurled in their faces is that "they are so sure they are right and that all others are wrong." But then that would only be a real problem if the fundamentalists were wrong about anything . . . which of course is not possible.

So, if you must know, fundamentalism is just another word for hypocrisy.

It means you follow the fundamentals of whatever you are doing. Christian Fundamentalists follow the fundamentals of Christianity. Somehow the left has used this as an insult. They don't like groups that practice what they preach.
