Well, I think that it's good if you find a good therapist that you can feel confortable with.
You can work out some of your inner problems with him/her. Okay, you might talk to some friends about some of your problems, but sometimes, you won't talk your heart out with them because you might feel ashamed, so you lighten up your problems.
A good therapist can help you order your toughts and guide the conversation and feelings in order to solve them.
I spent about 2 or 3 years going with one and I'm really happy I went with him.
It's important that you feel confortable, if you don't, then it won't work.

first they can prescribe some good meds if you are suffering from abnormal behavior....depression? compulsive obsessions..? phobia's? panic disorder? the list goes on and on...
also if you get a good psychologist he will be able to tell if your problem is physical or mental or a combination of the two....
just make sure you get a good psychologist..as just like doctors of any kind..there is good and bad...personal reference's help...

an easy way to spend lots of money and get nothing in return. There are very few good ones out there and it takes money to find a good one that helps you.
