how do i get rid of a virus?

Question

im scanning my computer right now with stopsign scanner thing and it is coming up with all these crazy lists of different kind of viruses. i scanned my computer with AVG last night and it said i had no viruses. so should i trust AVG or the stopsign thing???

and if i do use the stop sign program how do i delete all these viruses from my computer.
ive got a possible spyware cookie
and a possible adware aplication
adware media page
and a trojan click?

so how i do get rid of these? and when i do get rid of them how do i make sure they stay away?

so many of the free scan for spyware and anti virus ,use dummy -or ghost simples to scare you in to buying their program they are downloaded with the scan - they don't harm you computer they end up in a temp file and delete on restart-with all that said > i like to start with a online virus scan like panda >http://www.pandasoftware.com >use AVG7.5 and download adware SE personal [free] not the program [adware] but ,adware SE personal and you are good too go ...good luck

It's no longer rebooting. You are reformatting. Yes that removes them, however that will get alternatively stressful. Just get Microsoft Security Essentials or Avast! Home Edition. They will preserve you from so much viruses, however no application on this planet will quit the whole thing.
