It's not that he was cool as much as he was the BMOC. He had a job, cool car, girlfriend...he was "responsible". I think it was more that everyone liked him and knew him. I graduated in '79 and I knew a lot of guys like him. He definitely was not the "nerd".

He was the one that 75% of the public was supposed to identify with. Which meant...... well....... 75% of the public in the 80's were pretty darn nerdy too. lol Now Spicoli....... lol That's a different story. *wink*
