I think that all of us make a difference. We affect many peoples lives in some way are another, mostly we do not know whose lives we affected. If you are a kind person then people will remember you. Write your biography, start it now and work on it as your life evolves, then you can leave behind the story of you.

Sometimes people are born into opportunities of greatness. That is the key, your moment in time.
We are all torn between scraping for a living and living mundane lives while we are living day by day, or we get born into a life where there was an opportunity to do tremendous world changing good deeds..
I suggest that you change the world one life at a time, since if you mattered a lot to one human being, you will be immortalized in that persons mind.
Or as Confucius was once quoted to have said;
"May you live in interesting times"

Life is too short to worry about the end of it, but to discover it has ends in their selves. People are the ends of life, not the means to the end, which is presently popular.
The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative.

People are often unreasonable; illogical, and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you've got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God;
It was never between you and them.
