Asians with natural color of black want it to be blonde and Americans/Europeans with natural skin color of white want it to be tan by sunbathing..

Tan-ness is a symbol of wealth. Why? Because being tan means you have lots of free time and can afford to lounge around in the sun or spend hundreds of dollars in the tanning salon!

Not to many generations ago a "tan" meant you were a laborer spending his/her time in the farm fields or outdoors in other labor jobs.

Now being "pale" or "white" means you are locked in a cubicle in an airtight building never seeing the sun!

Asians, especially Chinese and Japanese are so uniform in their hair coloring. It's black or black. The young folk are curious about trying out other looks and changing hair color is pretty easy.

Some colors look better than others, and the Asian kid must keep in mind his/her coloring before doing anything to radical.
Shades of dark brown and reddish brown look great. Blond looks really silly!

I am currently living in Vietnam and have been traveling through Asia the last year. I have not run into many people who want blond hair and seen very few girls or guys with bleached hair. The skin color thing is a whole different matter. Asians are really serious about having light or white skin. They wear ridiculous hats and face masks. Long gloves and socks just to keep their skin from the sun. Many girls will not go out between 10:00 and 4:00 during the day.

Most of this is social pressure. The people that are tan and dark are the people who work out doors and in the fields. The urbanites have the notion that if you are dark you are a farmer of unskilled worker of some kind. So the whiter that you are the higher your social and financial status.

With us westerners the opposite is true. This is a rationalization but if you are very white it implies that you are indoors all the time. Working hard maybe? The tanned individual implies free time or just returned from a vacation etc. in other words more money and the free time to spend on the beach etc. I personally think that a good tan on a lady looks good. But... there are many out there that like the white skin as well. Each to his/her own!!!

I'm Asian and I don't want my hair to be blond. I like my really black hair and people compliment me on it. I wear colored contact lenses though because I get bored with my black eyes sometimes. I have a light tan but I would like a darker tan this summer. My reason is that it would be different from my usual skin tone, and that it would be lighter again in the fall/winter.
I guess it might be the same about other people. It doesn't mean they don't like what they are when they change themselves. They just want to experiment and try different things. Anyway, it would be back to normal in no time at all.

Very few Asians seeks blond hairs, but from what I know, Asians hate the sun, as it get them get wrinkles at very young age, as their skin cannot take it. Also, brown skin show persons that work outside in the fields, so in Asia most of those are considered poor. So by getting a white skin, they express their social status.
In our countries it doesn't apply as we think we look better. But Asians are right for one thing, sunbath damage your skin over time...

It's a matter of showing off financial status.

Among Europeans and Americans, fair skin used to be the mark of beauty. Most people had to work outside, in the field, and they got tanned. A woman who was fair skinned was one who stayed in doors. She didn't have to work in the fields. Fair skin showed off wealth.

About the 1950s, it became popular to go someplace sunny for the winter. Long, lazy days on the beach resulted in tanned skin. Showing off a tan in winter became a sign of wealth. Later, this became the year round tan trend.

Naturally dark haired people tend to dye their hair lighter shads for the same reason. To show that they have expensive fashion sense and the money to pay for it.

Less wealthy people tend to follow the trends of the wealthy. These habits eventually spread throughout a society. Its all pretentiousness.

each and each of their very own.. some likes to do it because of the fact they think of they seem extra extra effective and that they are mushy with it yet I nevertheless think of that the organic splendor is the best. Our Asian looks are seen unique splendor interior the western worldwide places and additionally, i think of it relatively is extreme-high quality to work out white human beings to have a sprint tan because of the fact they seem too faded in the event that they do no longer. <*-*>
