According to the Internet search it is both a dvd player and a dvd burner, known as DVD-RW

depends if the DVD had DVD-Rom or DVD+-RW if its the RW then it is a burner but if it has the ROM then its just a player

The missing RW would indicate that it is a player or Read only.
