im not realy sure, but i think it needs the parties. otherwise, democracy would get all messed up and confusing. all these peoples veiws here and there, whereas now, wit the parties, hte views are mostly organized and are easier to hear and understand.

I think they have been a part of every democracy that has ever existed. Although there are places where there are a lot more politcal parties than in the US and where I think parties work better than here.

With a 2 party system, they seem to automatically oppose each other on nearly every issue and all you get is polarization. With a multi party system the parites can really represent different ideals and philosophies. And there often have to be coallitions between parties to form a majority. This means that different groups have to attract other parties to work together with them and you can get better compromises which are more widely accepted.

Pure democracy is not possible. It only results in the populous voting themselves into trouble. That is why we have a republic (rule of law created, enforced, and interpreted through a representative democracy). The result of that is inevitably that the representatives take sides and band together.

yes we need political parties first of all the whole 100,000 members to make a party is our way of making sure that you have the backing of a good size group of people .

the real question is how many parties should we be voting on ... i say the problem with the system is we only have two viable parties to choose from.

Democracy does not work, The USA, is a Republic, not a Democracy.

I do not think there is even one country in the world that is a democracy.

Democracy itself can't work. It's just three wolves and a sheep deciding on what's for lunch.

We have a constitutional republic, that limits how much of other peoples' stuff we can vote the government to give to us.
