Well that really depends on the size, if its under a mile wide then you want to be atleast 1000miles away or underground. Anything larger than a mile then heres what you do, You tuck your head between your legs and kiss your A.ss goodbye because youre Fucked no matter what you do.

A space craft in orbit would be the best place apart from that directly on the oposite side of the world and very far inland.
a mile wide asteroid isn't that big it took a 10km wide one to wipe out the dinosaurs and that took a few million years and they only really died out because mamals started taking over and humans aren't really effected by the ecosystem and have large stockpiles of food and good shelter

Anything substantially big. Like 1/8 mile diameter or more. there ain't anywhere to hide. You might survive for a while in a deep mine, but there would be no green plants, animals or sunlight on top. You wouldn't last a week after emerging. The blackout period would last a year or more..... But happily, it's a very rare occurance and probably won't happen for another few million years or so.

hmm i thought about this once, and i would think the best place to hide or get away from it is in space. as long as you are not in the path of it. like the people on the international space station, they would watch the earth just get destroyed from space. hopefully theres a woman on board cuz if or when they come down would probably have to re create the gene pool

If you were on the earth, you'd die. If you were in orbit around the earth, your spaceship gets hit by debris thrown up by the impact and you'd die. On the moon you'd be okay until you ran out of food, water, or oxygen, and then you'd die. Same with Mars. Really, I suppose the only safe place doesn't yet exist, that is, a space colony somewhere. So, you'd die.

there is an asteroid heading in the direction of us which would be so close that it's going to bypass decrease than our communique satellites, yet i do no longer think of it relatively is going to ensue till sometime around 2030. there is something up with the year 2012 nonetheless, various historical calendars mysteriously end there, so who's established with.

Assuming that endearing bunch of redneck oil-riggers headed up by Bruce Willis and accompanied by a certain Aerosmith song fail in their mission..we have contingency plans to save earth's brightest and best by shuttling them to a specially prepared moon-base till it blows over..ie all the world leaders whose initial is 'B', all the estate agents, lawyers and Big Brother contestants without whom civilisation would cease to exist!

in the center of a continent so if it hits water you will not be killed by the waves. next you will need to find a bomb shelter and be really far under ground and have enough food and water for many years. or you could become the president and hide in their bomb shelter which will save you for i think 50 years.

man, you don't have to worry avout that.
it won't happen.
that is just science fiction. or a creation of your great imagination
even before that asteriod would reach earth, the gravitaitonal pulls of planets like mars, venus or mercury would suck the asteriod into them. how? and why? because asteriods travel in an orbit like planets would.
i mean they are they are some kind of solarsynchronous objects that would pass other planets in case they strayed from there orbits
