I have a little baby niece who just entered the world. I would like to make a quilt for her, but I would like it to be "princessy." I want it to include her name, Katerina. I want it to be special and unique. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or thoughts on what to do.

first go to fabric stores looking for princessy fabric, they often have things like that. then figure out just what quilt block style you want to use, then leave a plain center block and put her name and birth date on it, you could also use the printer transfer paper and copy a photo of her and iron that onto the center block.

My sister in law made a beautiful princess quilt... She fussy-cut fabric with the Disney princesses on it, and used them as the main blocks. She bordered them in a coordinating fabric, and backed it with another coordinating fabric! So pretty, and the little grand-girl loves it!

you can make it pink and then in the middle put her name HUGE in purple or another color and then a white and yellow crown with red or blue circles on the crown horns and then in the middle of the crown put a heart or something.
then around her name and the crown put like words that say "princess" "special" "love" stuff like that you could also put hearts or stars in the extra space

There are llots of things you could do. the first thing that comes to mind is a big applique of a crown and the name appliqued around it in big letters.
