If I came forth with, say, video footage on Youtube of the stigmata cuts that sometimes show up on my forehead.

Folks (who already don't believe in God to begin with) could just say it's something that happened by an accident or that I made the cuts myself and lied.

This happens over and over again each time proof is brought forth.

When people get ripped off, they tend to question extraordinary claims, therefor it is more about you than God. God is his own best proof, not materialistic manifestations.

'Scepticism
Φ 202. Scepticism is the realisation of that of which Stoicism is merely the notion, and is the actual experience of what freedom of thought is; it is in itself and essentially the negative, and must so exhibit itself. With the reflexion of self-consciousness into the simple, pure thought of itself, independent existence or permanent determinateness has, in contrast to that reflexion, dropped as a matter of fact out of the infinitude of thought. In Scepticism, the entire unessentiality and unsubstantiality of this “other” becomes a reality for consciousness. Thought becomes thinking which wholly annihilates the being of the world with its manifold determinateness, and the negativity of free self-consciousness becomes aware of attaining, in these manifold forms which life assumes, real negativity.'

Well, it's really human nature.

People don't like change, and they don't like others who don't share their beliefs. So, if those others happen to prove their belief, the these people won't like it and will do everything in their path to disprove it and shield others from it simply so their beliefs will not die and they won't be "wrong".

That's why there are so many religions in the world. Some people believe in God, while others don't (me). Each religion is very close, but different enough to cause wars. And you know what? The religions which caused the Crusades and other Holy Wars may not even be true...

You can't prove God's existence. He is inexpanable, to amazing for words. If you believe in God it is faith, pure faith, nothing that can be proved as scientific, just as evolution is a faith, not a science because there is no proof. God can visit someone in their prayers or through visitations, but no one can know if they are telling the truth, because humans tend to wander away from God and Jesus, away from the truth, because they want to be rebelious.............
