Generally, parents want good things for their kids. Many do not want to see them make mistakes or get hurt by people they think might do that to them.

Unfortunately, we all have our own lives to live, and we have to make choices and decisions that will turn out well or not.
That is how we learn- by trial and error.

Perhaps your mother thinks you are too young to get married, or that your boyfriend is not the best choice for you.

Try to listen to what she has to say, because chances are she has more experience in life and has seen more things than you have.
Good luck..

will first of all it would be if she was old enough to get married and if the guy made her happy and didn't abusive her. if my daughter wanted to get married I would make sure this is what she really wanted, to make sure she finished college if she was going to college, had a good job, and being able to take care of herself. I know it's my daughters choose and I wouldn't stand in the way of her happiness but I would went the best for her. I'm glad I wouldn't have to worry about this for a few more years. good luck.

My biggest concern would be is this a good man who is going to treat my daughter right. Does he have good morals is he not going to cheat on her beat her or abuse her and would he be a good dad. Also if he can provide for her and give her all the things she needs to be happy.

She wants to be sure that her daughter will be happy and secure, emotionally and financially. She wants to have access to her daughter, and not lose her because a husband doesn't like the mother. Maybe she doesn't want to lose the control that she has over her daughter's life.

so so much, being used, being abused, being brought down in life, being forced into a unloving relationship, sometimes pregnancies, him being untrustworthy, her having to do all the work, her giving up her earlier dreams, her not sleeping or eating right, his weaknesses, his drinking or doing drugs, his undesireable friends always being around, her inlaws being mean or unfair, it goes on and on--
