The two simplest ways to download videos from YouTube are

i) Go to www.keepvid.com and paste in the URL of the video you want to save (e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejLtDJ5V-9g) into the box. Right click and save the file with the extension .flv
ii) If you use Firefox to surf the net, download the Video Download extension https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2390

There are some flv players which can play the resulting file.

The best, and easiest way, that I've found is to use Mozilla Firefox and use add-ons. I have two favourites ... Ook? Video Ook! and VideoDownloader.

You'll, more than likely, find that these save the files as an .flv files, so you'll need to download one of the free players to view them. Try one of the following.
