This word has changed meaning since I was a kid.
Today it is placed on anything pornographic. What does it mean to you?

Adult to me means anything but pornography. I believe that the meaning of "adult" is as follows, it is a person of the age of responsibility. Being able to care for oneself and perhaps another. To be reliable and counted on. I don't use the word responsibility in the terms of viewing or looking at porn or the age of drinking. Responsibility is a term used for one who can pay their rent/mortgage, not living with their parents. Adults are the people that you can look to for guidance, if the only advantage of being an adult is drinking and porn,how sad are we? Basically, I'd rather be anything but an adult if that is what it means now. Sad, but true.

an Adult in my opion is someone who is 18 and not a minor and acts there age and takes on the respociblitys that that have to take on. to have a job a car money and be able to live on your own and handle your self.. u can be ovver 18 n not have a home a house or even care about your self n do drugs n that doesnt make you an adult that makes you an adult but your still akid..bc u dont take on resposibilty like you should..

I know 18 yr. olds are considered adults & can vote, but seriously, I think adult should apply to everyone over the age of 21. Adult means mature, discerning with the ability to comprehend & maintain self control....yep, over 21..atleast.

to me being an adult is more than reaching a certain age. i believe to truely be an adult one must act with a sense knowledge, respect, and responsibility that makes one mature.

For me it's people who say to a kid "if i can't do it, what makes u think u can" (though i would never say that) But yeah it mostly means mature and independent.

it only has any certain meaning in the law - ie an adult is someone who is 18 or over
