Has any member of a Royal family ever been asassinated like some past presidents?

The assassination of the archduke of Austria Hungary at Bosnia has been one of the most important because it was the main cause for the WWI. Some might consider the death of Diana as an assassination and since she had still the royal title you might count it as one too. And Finally, Louis XVI was murdered during the final moments of the french revolution for trying to escape and create a conspiracy against the new republic.

Well, Royal families are tricky because it is often very difficult to address what was an "accident" and what was a planned out assasination. (William II of England's death for example.)

But yes, there have been PLENTY of assasination attempts on monarchs and members of royal families, but I am most familier with British History and, while many people have tried, I cannot offhand think of a successful assasination that was proven so.

Well many people think Lady Diana was killed on purpose. Guess we will never know. The Russian royal family was killed. The actress who married the prince or king from Monaco to. Grace Kelly I think. I think that's a royal family too! Some think she was killed too!

if you mean the British Royal family, search for Lord Louis Mountbatten, blown up by the IRA about 15 years ago....

the archduke of the austria hungary empire -- it started a chain of events that ended up being world war 1.

the romanov family of russia in 1917. part of the russian revolution.
