The power of suggestion. Try saying things like, "I think you said it earlier, ..." and "As you said before, ..." This method is most effective when it is a slight variation of something they really did say. Then there is also, "So what you're saying is,..." If said enough times, like political lies in the newspaper, people begin to believe that was what was really said by so-and-so. In actuality, the thoughts were yours, you just got them attributed to someone else. Of course, I never really wrote this, I was only rephrasing what was already on your mind, right? It's your idea, not mine. ;)

Whatever you have to say, just say it in a well-mannered format. Also, make sure that what you say is something that people would want to acknowledge as an influential saying in their life. Something that will influence them.
