I have a 97 Buick Century. The front driver window was previously not working very well. Almost every time I turn on the car it goes down immediately. Then I have to hold down the button for it to go up, doesn't always happen right away. It has been going up little by little eventually, but now it won't go up more than a few inches. I had a similar problem with the rear driver side window not going up, but it was stuck about 2/3 the way up, and recently closed all the way. I'm trying to figure out a way to troubleshoot what part i need to get or how to fix it. I'm on a really tight budget as well. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

It sounds most likely that the window motor is failing. It may have enough strength to pull the window down, but it can not push it up with the supporting weight and the failing motor. If you can replace it yourself a new motor will be in between 60 and 100 dollars. If you are looking in a extreme budget, than contact junkyards near you and pull it out of a car similar to you. They will charge you about 15 to 25 dollars most likely. I've gotten many parts in the past from junkyards and have had long lives with them. If you can't do it yourself than shop will charge you about 1 hour labor 60 - 80 dollars.

Good luck!

You can depending on how good are you mechanically inclined. If you need a demo, try to find the same Civic on a Junk Yard and practice to see how to take it apart without tearing or experimenting on yours. I have done it in the past. Used a wreck car to figure some out. Is free since you are not taking parts or you might come out with some that you like. But like others stated here.... WARRANTY! It has to be for a 2007 Model, let the dealership mess with it.

Dirty/corroded relays under the hood in the power distribution box.
On the box cover everytihg should be labled as far as what's what. (pwr wndw) or something like that.

You may be able to swap them out to get it to work, or buy a new relay.
