I'm going to put some 20" in chrome rims on my car and I was wondering if the alignment clamps won't scratch my rims? do I gotta tell them to be careful with the rims?

No problem with this. If you have a reputable dealer putting on your rims they are very familiar with this problem. Rims are so expensive these days that they don't dare make a mistake. If there are clearance problems with the rims that you have chosen they will inform you. It wouldn't hurt to ask aswell. good luck

Most modern, good alignment equipment have rubber or plastic bushings where the unit touches the wheels. Make sure the shop has them.
