Whenever I lit them up, I found them very hard to smoke. Sometimes they caught on fire and melted my fingers. I really couldn't understand why people would be addicted to something like that...

I think candy cigarettes mixed with living with parents who smoke is a bad influence. I loved pretending to smoke those, and then started to pretend smoking real cigarettes. I was in 6th grade when I actually started smoking for real. I wouldn't say that candy cigs are to blame, but they certainly don't help either!

I remember candy cigarettes but I thought that they stopped making those things. If they still market them then it would certainly be a bad influence. We used to mimick grown ups with those things and most of us [my childhood friends] actually became smokers it may not have been because of the cigarette candy but they sure didn't help.

I think they can be...maybe. I loved (and actually still love) candy cigarettes. I used to get them when I was a kid too. I'm all grown up now...but I have never smoked, nor do I have any desire too.
But I think it can be influential on children who may not have a strong role model or the ability to resist peer pressure.
But I think it has more to do with your upbringing then with pretend smoking as a kid.

I just remember the Popeye Pez dispensers. Yeah, the candy and chocolate cigarettes are not exactly politically correct right now. Which is fine and all that, and it is true that if you make something "cool" or "fun" more children are bound to want to try it. I note that they still haven't gotten rid of toy guns though.

candy comes in many forms. and ild be the last one to try to name the influence of every one of them. But, in todays world ild think more people would be worried about condome machines in Middle School rest rooms??????? 12 and 13 year olds need access to condomes like we need more men im prison?

i use to play with army men, cap guns and violent video games. I have yet to kill or hurt anyone. I havent declared war on anyone either.
I think social circles have a thousand times more influence on your choices than the products you play with or the music you listen to.

They are a bad influence. I haven't seen them being sold in stores in my area for the longest time.

i think that many many things should be kept from children.such as so much violence on TV. and crude sex. and rudeness. and evil.in the media.and also play cigarettes.this would be a wonderful country if i were your benevolent dictator. May God bless You
