Sounds like your calipers are starting to stick to the rotors. You're going to need new calipers and front rotors (or rear or whichever one is sticking). The stuck caliper is generating heat while the rotor is giving off the characteristic burnt asbestos smell. Time to visit Mr. Goodwrench or Autozone.

Is it front brakes staying on or rears? If it's rear's, it could be the parking brake cables are rusted and sticking---need to lube the cables with rust penetrant. If the ABS light is staying on, have the system codes checked by an ABS qualified shop--should indicate where the problem is. Could be a bad metering valve in the system, faulty or corroded sensor or wire harness, etc..

Is cable on emergency brake possibly not releasing completly? This is a common problem.Try going under vehicle and grabbing cables and move them around sometimes this will release them if they are hanging up due to rust or lack of use.
