Generation Y (15-25 yr olds) seems to have more than its fair share of 'retarts.' What's the main cause?:

--Convenience (cell phones, internet)

--Extreme liberalism and/or leniency (Lack of discipline by parents, teachers)

--A specific style/era of poor teaching/education (cite dates and change in teaching methodology, if possible)

--Side effects of 'political correctness' (lack of frank discussion, lack of firm opinion, unsupported and generic liberal ideology, striving to be 'guilt-free' )

--Other....?

David, I was thinking more like that NCLB (regardless of bad or good) was a response to some decade of really atrocious "It's all gud" type of education. Hmm...

The education of the bottom half correlates with NCLB. Hmm....

EDIT:
If you have had any experience with the education system, you know that without a doubt NCLB has further destroyed the education system. All we do is study to pass standardized tests, half of which is irrelevant to what we learned.

I see them as less selfish and spoiled as my generation (baby boomers) and less whiny and self-righteous as gen-xers. I hope I'm right, 3 bad generations in a row is gonna make it tough for this country....
