Is it bad to feed my fish flys that I swat around the house? I would think it would be good for them.

You are right, it's just fine to feed those to your fish. Any soft bodied bugs that aren't killed by insect spray will be just fine. That's something to do with all the moths that collect around a light at night, huh? ;)

If you don't use insect spray its fine- some insects don't get enough spray and live on so you don't know when you're poisoning the fish, but my fish have always eaten live food and they live to a ripe old age-no harm trying it, its good for them!

You can give them houseflies...fruitflies...etc. You can even bring in bugs from outside. The only real worry is a parasite called Hydra..but it only is a problem for really small fry.
A lot of people catch their own..or culture their own...foods for their fish. Mosquito larvae is also good for them if you have a stagnant bucket, puddle etc around your home.

i wouldnt advise you to do that as they may have some poison or something else not healthy for your fish to ingest.i have worked in a pet store for a few years.
