People complain about society not valueing each other enough. I think we value each other too much.
Who is to say humans have any inherent worth? Some sky daddy? Personal preference?
How can that mean anything? Sky daddy is a stupid fantasy and everyone has different preferences which means there is no universal standard of worth. For example, you probably love your kids, I probably would love to see them drown in a lake of motor oil.
From the way I see it, humans (any and all humans) are good for three things: hunting, tormenting, and exploiting. Might as well because I'm here to do it. Here I am.
Do you agree? If not, what are your reasons? Please do not mention sky daddy...I mean God. I will laugh the paint off my face.

amour,
Funny. I do live in the jungles of Malaysia. It is a nice place and brings out the bloodthirsty beast in me. I like that part of me.

Because they are self-centered and for the most part stupid. Intelligent people know human life is worthless. Even their own. Those are the CEOs of companies. Usually factories that exploit people. Hell I'd destroy every human life on the planet, including myself, just to see these idiots burn.
They all think that because mommy told them they're special that they are. Well guess what: They're not. You're not, I'm not. Not a single one of us is a "special little creature". Yet it gets pounded into them. The smart people (who are the ones most tormented by society) eventually realize they're worthless and no one will care when they die.
So to sum up, society thinks that because they're selfish, and too stupid to stop believing in crap their mothers told them. Juggalo love bro. Peace.

I do not consider society must assign importance to our human lifestyles. Nor do i consider it does. Society appears to be there to pass judgement on however no longer verify how one is valued. Society is a separate factor all in combination. Different cultures maintain unique values and so do every person character. However I wager we have now been assigned values, we would no longer agree however we already obey. The executive makes a decision what's unlawful and what's authorized, in spite of men and women being adverse to a few legislation. Laws are simply enforced ethical codes set out for us.

Can you give life? We can make pretty much everything using science (artificial limb, heart, cloning, etc), but we can't make life. But then if you think humans are good for three things only, you should be ready when other people torture your loved ones or maybe people that are stronger than you to exploit you. If you like that, you should live in the jungle of some third world country (no offense, I'm serious) because you can use the rule survival for the fittest.

It all has to do with the way our brain is wired. When humans started out living as bands of people each person was important. The more and stronger the people the more chance one has for survival. Working together to gather and hunt food as well as protection meant that every person was important and had a job in the community.

What else is there but human life for us to value, every thing else is so transient to our collective experience is my thought on the subject. What would the world have been like without...say Elvis? He was a human. You seem a little well, crusty, jaded even; maybe some fiber or a nice walk in the park on a sunny day would cheer You up!

For the atheist, there is no ultimate value to human life. Therefore, it is impossible to speak of the value of human life without mentioning God.
Again, apart from God, there is no meaning -- and no human value whatsoever. (So basically, it is impossible for anyone to answer this question in the way it has been asked). :OP
Hope that helps at least a little bit!

Society is made up of live, living humans. It's partly self-preservation. Also, if you don't value the lives of people in general, is there anyone you care about whose life you value? Well, amazingly enough, everyone in the world has at least one person who values them. Consequently, valuing a few can turn into valuing all.

why not, to each his own
if you rather see kids drown in motor oil, that's your'e thing but say you were to do something like that you obviously don't value your own life because your life there after could probably get really bad for you, i'm not sure if its already going that way for you, hopefully not, hopefully you can get someone in your life that would value yours so that you wouldn't be so negative. good luck with that, what color paint do you use?
