♥Sarah♥: I know exactly what you mean some people like or dislike Shelby because of Steel Magnolias (haven't seen it so I can't say) and I had to get over thinking about the movie Scream every time I heard the name Sydney...

Shelby!!
you know how some names are just ruined for you because someone had that name?
Well i've only known 2 Sydney's. One was a horrible girl who always broke the rules for no apparent reason. and the other.. was similar to the other girl.. and had a baby in 6th grade.. so that name is pretty much scarred for me.
And Julia is a good name too
I just personally like Shelby the most.. every girl i've met named Shelby was very sweet
*EDIT* I havent seen Steel Magnolias either.. but the whole a name being scarred from someone else having it is why i chose names that i didnt really know anybody with that name..Carly for my daughter and Adrian for my son.. sure i knew of people with that name but i didnt really personally know them. Good luck with naming your daughter though! Eventually you will find the perfect name

None are my favorite, but if I picked one it has to be Sydney. I don't really like Shelby because it makes me think of Julia Roberts Character in "Steel Magnolias."

First pick - Sydney = reminds me of Australia and is unusual
second - Julia = Julia Roberts comes to mind how can you go wrong there?
I am not crazy about Shelby

Sydney Julia
(or Sydney, if you're looking for a vote on just the first name)
