The systemic of murdering people that didn't meet the standards of another race is a crime against humanity.

The term "crime against humanity" is relatively new.

When an establishment (public in particular - a government or military; but could apply for another establishment like a powerful religious organization or militia) is systematically isolating, dispossessing, depriving, and/or killing a group of people based on their group identity, it's a crime against humanity. A holocaust is a genocide, which is the above except refers specifically to killing. A massacre is also a crime against humanity, even though it may not be as organized or may be intended to intimidate rather than exterminate.

Why a crime against humanity? Because it is part of the nature of humanity that we exist as separate groups with separate identities and are loyal to those groups. A person never deserves punishment for group identity alone, and to use political or financial advantage to mass punish a group is abuse of power to attack the innocent. If it were ever not considered a crime, all killing of innocents could be justified ... and then there would be no human civilization to speak of.

Any time you murder over 6 million people from nearly 20 different countries, "Crimes Against Humanity" fits lots better than simply calling it a war crime, or even mass murder.

Let's face it, Adolf Hitler was the number three ranked mass murderer of the 20th Century. Only Stalin and Mao Tse-Dung topped his record and they had much longer to do the job.
