I have a '98 Explorer. I backed into a stump and it has a dent in it. Can I, or someone just bang it out, or do I need a new bumper installed?

it depends on where the dent is. you may need to replace it if it is more toward the center if it is on the outside then you may be able to pull it out.

Dent the other side so it looks custom.

Please call your local ford dealer ask the service dept for the number of people who do bumper repair work.They can straighten most bumpers.

Ah no you do not fix this, it is normal with cars as they age, it is what gives it character, see.
